CURRICULUM
Wanderlino
has a B.A. in Language,
Literature and Law;
Post-graduation in Linguistics,
Semantics and Brazilian
Literature; member of
three academies of Literature
in Montes Claros, Belo
Horizonte and Rio de
Janeiro.
Retired in 1990 from two careers,
he served in the upper-management
of Banco do Brasil, as General
Manager and as Professor of
Linguistics and Portuguese
at the State University of
Montes Claros. In retirement,
he continues to serve as a
Corporate Trainer for the
bank. He also served as president
of the Minas Bank Employees’
Union; president of the Montes
Claros Academy of Literature;
president of the local City
Council; County Secretary
of Culture; director of the
Municipal Board on Cultural
and Historic Patrimony; and
delegate to the Freemasonry
Supreme Council. He was also
one of the founders of the
School of Law, in Montes Claros.
His participation
in International Congresses: Elos Internacional,
Lisbon, Portugal, Teresopolis and Belo Horizonte,
Brazil; International Congress of Spiritism,
Brasília; International Congress
of Spirit-Esperantists, Brasília;
International Assembly of Rotary, Anaheim,
USA; Festival Panamericano del Proyecto
Cultural Sur de Escritores y Artistas, Habana,
Cuba. Rotary International/United Nations
Congress and the Rotary International Convention,
Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Rotarian since 1969, Wanderlino is a member
of the Rotary Club of Montes Claros-Norte,
where he serves as club president. He has
served as District Membership Development
Chairperson, District Trainer, and District
Extension Chairperson. Team Leader in the
2000 Rotary International Assembly, Anaheim,
USA, and in the Brazilian Rotary Institute,
Recife; Training Leader of the assistent
governors in the Brazilian Institute, Sao
Paulo and Foz do Iguaçu; Brazilian
Representative, Rotary International Legislation
Council, Chicago, USA; Rotary International
Presidents’ Representative in District
Conferences of Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina;
Frank Devlyn’s District Committee
– Internet Communications; RI Training
Leader; Community Service Programs Task
Force member; District Membership Development
Chairperson, and Rotary Foundation Coodinator
in Zone 20N Brazil (2004-06). He has also
received the Paulo V.C. Costa International
Award. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and Rotary
Foundation Benefactor. Wanderlino has founded
20 Rotary Clubs.
Spouse: Olímpia Rego Arruda. Seven
children: João Wlader, lawyer, (Sunrise
Tulsa Rotary Club); José Danilo,
university student; Denilson, journalist;
Wladênia, lawyer; Wanderlino Filho,
video producer, (M. Claros-União
Rotary Club); Rizzia, executive secretary;
and Gracielle, university student. Nine
grandchildren: Fernanda, Mayra, Lívia,
Pedro, Roberto, Natália, Heitor,
Gabriela and Andrew.
Short
story writer and poet, with publications
in many Brazilian anthologies. Author of
TEMPOS DE MONTES CLAROS, JORNAL DE DOMINGO,
O DIA EM QUE CHIQUINHO SUMIU, CRÔNICAS
E POEMAS, POEMAS DE PURO AMOR, FEELINGS-Poems
and EMOÇÕES.
